Spartan Precision Equipment offers four distinct bipod families, each optimized for specific purposes. By considering factors such as shot range, firearm type, and terrain, this article will guide you in selecting the Spartan support system that best fits your needs.
Bipod Families
-
Javelin: Simple, strong, and ultra-lightweight, starting at just 4.6 oz, the Javelin range of bipods is quick-detachable and features cant and traverse functions. It’s the perfect companion for backcountry hunters.
-
Springbok: The flexible head joint allows for rapid position changes without mechanical adjustments. It features height adjustability for sitting and kneeling shots, making it ideal for shooting above brush and snow.
-
Valhalla: Spartan’s most optimized bipod for long-range shooters and precision rifles.
-
Vidarr: Combines competition-ready capability with ultra-lightweight design, offering the option to detach or stow it on the rifle for added convenience.
Similarities
-
M14x1.5 Modular Body Design: All bipods feature a common threaded leg design, allowing complete leg units to be fitted, removed, or exchanged for alternative styles. This provides versatility for adapting to varying terrain.
-
High-Quality Construction: Legs are made of carbon fiber; bipod bodies are CNC machined from 7075 aluminum billet and hard anodized for corrosion resistance.
-
Foot Design: All bipod legs have durable tungsten carbide tips with tethered synthetic boots to enhance grip on all terrains.
-
Cant: At least 10° of cant so you can level your scope on uneven terrain.
Differences:
-
Javelin and SpringBok bipods use the MagnaSwitch™ Attachment System for quick attachment/detachment with our Classic rifle adapters. The Valhalla requires a specific spigot adapter compatible with M-Loc or Picatinny rails, while the Vidarr utilizes the Disc-Lok system for rapid attachment and stowing on the rifle.
-
Javelin, Valhalla, and Vidarr bipods are CNC machined from 7075 aluminum billet and hard anodized for corrosion resistance. The SpringBok features a flexible silicone body with internal spring steel wire.
-
Javelin and SpringBok bipods do not fold; they are designed to be detached from the rifle when not in use. Valhalla and Vidarr bipods, however, can be folded on the rifle or detached from their quick-release system.
-
Javelin and SpringBok bipods have a single leg angle, with the SpringBok providing additional flexibility in the rubber head. Valhalla has five leg pitch positions, and Vidarr offers four.
-
Javelin Lite is the entry-level model with fixed, non-height adjustable legs and a magnetic leg hold-open system. The Javelin Pro Hunt Tac upgrades to a mechanical leg hold-open system and Tac Legs, featuring two-part, spring-assisted, mechanical locking legs that allow rapid height adjustments. Valhalla and Vidarr also include these Tac Legs.
-
SpringBok bipods have a silicone joint for rapid position changes and cant compensation without mechanical adjustments. The legs can be manually adjusted or locked with a twist lock to conform to uneven terrain.
-
Javelin bipods range from 4.8 to 8.3 ounces, SpringBok is 10.6 ounces, Valhalla is 13 ounces, and Vidarr weighs 9.2 ounces.
-
Javelin and SpringBok bipods offer 30° traverse. Valhalla and Vidarr bipods prioritize maximum stability without traverse.
