When you need a lightweight, quick-to-deploy shooting tool, Spartan has the answer.
The SpringBok family of supports is purpose-built for hunters and includes a bipod, tripod, and quad sticks. These short to mid-range tools give you the versatility to adapt to any terrain while prioritizing speed, adaptability, and simplicity.
SpringBok Technology System
At the heart of all three products is the innovative SpringBok Technology System. This consists of a silicone body reinforced with a spring steel wire, allowing the head of the bipod, tripod, or quad stick to flex and adjust leg pitch. Extensive testing led us to a compound that’s significantly more durable and less temperature sensitive than rubber. All SpringBok spigots are compatible with our range of MagnaSwitch™ adapters.
The main advantage of this silicone head is the ability to change leg pitch without mechanical adjustments. Its elegantly simple design results in less weight, fewer parts to fail, and a lower cost. Let’s break down the features of each multifunctional tool and explore where they shine.
Mr. G affectionately calls the SpringBok Bipod the “chopsticks of death.” With only two legs to manage, it’s lightning fast to reposition for moving game or follow-up shots. The flexible silicone head allows you to “walk” a leg around for uneven ground adjustments.
Thanks to our modular design, you can swap out the included Pro Legs for shorter Tac Legs, or even attach the SpringBok head to a set of Ascent Tripod Legs for standing shots.
With the legs collapsed, you can shoot prone, from one knee, or while sitting. Need more height to clear brush? Just twist the lock with one hand and extend the legs for a high-kneeling position. While it’s not meant to be a long-range precision tool, the reality is that most game is taken at 300 yards or less. You can lean forward into the bipod to add a bit of load and make the most of this simple but effective device.
Ideal for predator and varmint hunting in North America, it’s easy to pivot the rifle quickly to either side. It also excels in open-country deer and antelope hunting, and the head’s huge angle range is perfect for taking advantage of brief shot windows, like when an elk steps out of the trees for just a moment. In areas where rapid follow-up shots are common, you'll appreciate how easy it is to reset your position without fuss. Lightweight on your back and wallet, this tool deserves a spot in your kit.

To boost versatility, we added a third leg to the SpringBok head. The silicone joint works just like the bipod, allowing smooth, one-handed leg adjustments without tools or knobs.

Spread the tripod legs fully for a rock-solid prone setup, set them for sitting or kneeling, or extend them fully for a standing shot platform. A handy trick to remove any elasticity from the silicone is to twist the tripod head a quarter turn, a move we call the “Terry Twister,” first used by Terry Houin.
With its spider-like flexibility, the tripod adapts quickly to steep or broken ground. Add an adapter to mount your binoculars, spotter, or rangefinder. While it’s not a replacement for a dedicated glassing platform like the Ascent, it’s perfect for the final stalk or shorter outings without heavy optics use.
It covers everything the bipod does, but with greater stability. For a modest increase in weight and size, you get noticeable gains in performance. Still quick to deploy, this is especially useful for African game, where kneeling or standing shots are the norm. It’s also lighter than traditional wooden sticks commonly used on the plains.
Practice at home before your trip, and you’ll be grateful later. Attaching your rifle via a MagnaSwitch™ adapter gives you three-axis stability (vertical, side to side, and fore-aft), unlike the single-plane stability of traditional sticks or packs. And if you or your client doesn’t have a Spartan adapter, the optional V Cradle Quick Shot Rest has you covered.
Moose and bear hunters in Alaska or Canada will appreciate how it’s short enough to strap to a pack and move through brush, yet tall enough to shoot over devil’s club. With a second Classic Gunsmith Adapter (or any of our rail-mounted adapters) near your forend’s balance point, you can even rest your rifle hands free while calling predators.

The final SpringBok variant is what Mr. G calls his “mobile shooting bench.” Popular in Europe, quad sticks are about to go global, thanks to Spartan’s thoughtful improvements.

Think of them as a big SpringBok Bipod that attaches to a MagnaSwitch™ adapter on your forend, with another bipod at the rear supporting your buttstock via a cradle. This double-contact system dramatically reduces wobble caused by breathing or muscle fatigue.
Flexible silicone joints let you silently and quickly adjust position. Transition from prone to kneeling or standing simply by kicking out a leg with your foot or hand. It’s deliberately intuitive: grab one leg, walk it around, and you're ready for a new target. For a quick look during your stalk, snap any adapter-equipped optic onto the front magnetic spigot.
You can shoot using only the front mount for speed or both mounts for maximum stability. A bonus? The system absorbs recoil thanks to the silicone and rigid rifle connection, reducing kick and muzzle rise, letting you watch your shot and make adjustments faster.
Tripod or Quad Sticks?
The tripod is for rapid setup and is better suited to backpack hunts. Quad sticks offer even more stability for scenarios where you have extra time and space. They’re ideal for flatter terrain and day hunts where pack space isn’t a premium. With an effective range out to 300 to 400 yards, they’ll cover most hunting scenarios.
Choose quad sticks when you want to elevate your marksmanship, whether you’re walking a creek bed, scanning a field edge, roaming prairie grasslands, or shooting through brush. For African hunts, where standing and kneeling shots are the standard, this tool does everything traditional shooting sticks do, plus it supports the rifle’s rear, adding a whole second dimension of stability.
