Altai Fixed Blade

NEW

Born from the high country and built for the field.

The Altai is a fixed blade hunting knife inspired by our founder Rob Gearing’s hunt in Mongolia’s Altai Mountains. Designed in collaboration with the makers of most trusted knives in the industry, it carries our feel throughout, from the carbon-fiber-inspired handle texture to our signature Spartan head on the handle pins and hits of hi-vis orange that make it easy to spot when light fades and conditions turn rough.

The Altai features a blade just under 4 inches long, an ideal length for control and easy reference when field dressing an animal. The blade is crafted from 14C28N steel with a durable ceramic coating for corrosion resistance, toughness, and edge retention. A striking notch on the spine pairs with the included ferro rod to help get fire started when the day runs long, while the included ceramic rod makes backcountry touch-ups simple and fast.

Jimping on the finger choil, spine, and rear handle provides added grip and tactile reference in hand. A ringed pommel delivers a swift, secure draw, even with gloves on, and a hole in the pommel is ready for a fob or additional retention setup.

Everything stores securely in the included thermoplastic sheath, equipped with reflective orange paracord that’s used on the lanyard as well as the pulls for the ferro and ceramic rods, making essential tools easier to find when visibility drops. From the first cut to the last chore back at camp, the Altai is a capable hunting and survival companion shaped by real experience in nature’s most unforgiving mountains.

Superior Performance

14C28N blade steel is built for edge retention, holding a working edge through skinning, quartering, and camp chores without constant resharpening. It resists rolling and chipping under hard use, so the knife stays reliable from the first cut to the last.

Built to Handle the Elements

The ceramic coated handle and blade finish add durability and corrosion resistance, standing up to blood, moisture, and rough handling in the field. The orange finish also means the blade is easy to spot the moment you set it down, even as light fades.

Strong and Lightweight

The glass reinforced nylon handle keeps overall weight down without sacrificing strength, so the knife carries easily on a pack or belt all day and holds up to repeated hard use once you're in the field.

Fire Ready, When You Need It

A magnesium alloy fire rod throws sparks on demand, giving you a reliable way to start a fire when matches are wet or a lighter fails. Built into the knife itself, it is one less piece of gear to track down.

Sharp Edges With No Extra Gear

A built in ceramic sharpening rod lets you hone the blade edge without packing a separate sharpening kit, keeping the Altai ready through extended trips or multiple animals.

Gear Compatible

The durable thermoplastic sheath holds up to rough handling in the pack or on the belt, with mounting options that keep the Altai accessible and secure wherever the day takes you.

Amazing quality, perfect size, lightweight

"Used this on my son’s very first deer, and was extremely pleased with the performance. Knife stayed sharp for the whole quartering process whereas my replaceable blade knife went through 5 blades the deer before. Sheath had very positive engagement which made me feel good throwing it in my son’s pack without worries. Ferro and ceramic rods included in the sheath made it a very compact, lightweight, easy to manage system as well. I highly recommend this knife “system” to anyone looking for a well rounded, high quality but inexpensive option!"
