Overview

The Classic Rifle Adapter & Picatinny Rail is the versatile option for attaching any of our tripods or Javelin (Lite, Pro Hunt, & Pro Hunt Tac) bipods to your rifle. Featuring a short section of Picatinny rail and a QD stud for all your accessories and slings.

Installation Guide

Installation is easiest on rifles with two predrilled sling swivel studs on the forend, however, it should be possible on most rifles.

Dual Sling Stud Rifles

For rifles with dual sling studs simply remove the sling studs and mount the adapter and then use the provided screws and tighten. The forward screw acts as the magnetic connection through the adapter, and threads through the spigot connection part of the adapter.

The second rearward screw, will amount along the sliding rail cutout of the adapter, located in the centre groove of the picatinny rail. The maximum distance of sling studs that this adapter allows is 63mm - 2.5”

Single Sling Stud Rifles

In case of only one front sling stud, it may be worth drilling and bonding a stud insert. For some rifles it may be possible to remove the barrel and drill through to allow for the second screw to be bolted onto the rifle, and the barrel reinstalled, this may not be possible with some rifles, we would advise bonding a stud insert. We recommend visiting your local gunsmith to do this.

QD Receiver

On the thinnest end of the adapter, there is a QD sling swivel stud circular eyelet receiver, this facilitates most common QD sling swivels with the diameter of 9.5mm to 10mm / 0.37 " to 0.4 ".

Adapter Orientation

The orientation of the Classic Rifle & Picatinny Rail Adapter is largely down to personal preference. However we typically mount the MagnaSwitch™ end to the front sling stud, with the rest of the picatinny rail facing rearward. When configured this way, and with our on of our bipods mounted facing forward they will operate in "Hunt Mode", allowing the rifle to pan smoothly when tracking targets. By mounting the bipod in reverse "Target Mode" is then in operation with the limiter pin locking your ability to pan.
