Hercules Tripod - Product Guide
Born from a successful military contract, Hercules underwent extensive life cycle testing, resulting in a remarkably robust yet lightweight tripod. Featuring the Disc-Lok attachment system, it accommodates a broad range of rifles, optics, and accessories, catering specifically to tactical and competition shooters wielding high-energy precision rifles.

The Hercules tripod system is the largest tripod in the Spartan range. It was originally developed to meet the requirements of a military user who needed a lightweight but extremely robust tripod system capable of handling the loads and recoil pressures delivered by military rifles up to .50 calibre. Following the success of the project, the Hercules tripod is now available to all users. It provides an ideal support system for shooters seeking a strong, stable, and versatile platform for long-range shooting, competition shooting, and hunting from fixed positions.
Attaching Your Rifle
The Hercules Tripod comes with a Disc-Lok module and an optional Magnaswitch™ Module allowing for connection to both Spartan attachment systems. We would recommend running the Disc-Lok System for this tripod which is best paired with the HD Dual Picatinny/Arca Adapter. The Dual-purpose jaws support both Arca-Swiss and Picatinny rails, enabling seamless use across rifles, bipods, and glassing heads in a single support system. This flexibility is ideal for shooters who regularly transition between rail types in PRS, hunting, or tactical environments.
Primary Installation on to you're ARCA/Picatinny Rail
1. Simply Turn The Knurled Thumb wheel anti-clockwise to widen the ARCA/PICATINNY Clamp
2. Place the Adapter on the Rail, Make sure the Quick disconnect arm is in the closed position with the small Locking lever facing away from the rifle.
(Make sure If using Picatinny that the rail is snug in place and Properly seated and isn't resting on top of any Protruding rail.)
Then to Quickly detach your Implement from the Adapter. Depress the Small locking lever with your Thumb, Then Gently Move the Main Quick Release Lever outwards which will enable you to separate the two.
Construction and Materials
The Hercules tripod is engineered for durability and strength. The aluminum components, including the tripod body, are CNC machined from 7000-series aluminium. This creates a durable chassis and strong mounting point for rifles. The body also provides secure connection points for the removable leg units.
Modular Head System
The Hercules features a modular head unit with a removable central module, allowing users to adapt the tripod to different applications. The head unit accepts the following compatible modules: Disc-Lok™ Spigot, 12mm Spartan Magna-Switch Spigot, and Pan Head Converter.
Modules can be quickly exchanged by loosening the lever, pulling the module release knob outward, and replacing the module with the desired option. The head unit also includes cord slings for hanging ballast, improving stability without interfering with the articulation of the ball joint.
This modular design allows the tripod to be rapidly adapted for rifle shooting, optics use, photography, or filming. Simply exchange one module for another.
Disc-Lok™ Module
The Disc-Lok™ spigot module is a Spartan design that features a 16mm stainless steel spigot. This forms the mechanical locking connection point for the rifle adapter.
The Disc-Lok system is compatible with Picatinny Disc-Lok adapters, M-Lok Disc-Lok adapters, HD Disc-Lok Arca-Swiss adapters, and HD Disc-Lok Picatinny adapters.
Note: The Disc-Lok module is not compatible with 12mm Spartan Magna-Switch adapters.
12mm Spartan Magna-Switch Module
The 12mm Magna-Switch module uses Spartan’s magnetic attachment system. It is compatible with the full range of Spartan Classic adapters, including optics adapters.
The key advantages of the Magna-Switch module include fast mounting and removal, secure magnetic engagement, and it is ideal for hunting scenarios where speed and stability are critical.
Pan Head Converter Module
The Pan Head Converter module is designed to allow the Hercules to support optics or cameras. It is a flat-based module featuring a 3/8"-16 male screw. The 3/8" thread is the industry standard used in the optics and photography industry. This allows the Hercules to mount camera ball heads, optical mounts, and commercial camera equipment.
Leg System
The Hercules tripod uses four-section telescopic carbon-fibre legs. Features of the legs include foam handles for grip and comfort, rubber boots covering the sharp tips, and threaded attachment into the tripod body.
Removable Leg Functionality
The removable leg design offers several practical advantages. All three legs can be separated from the body for easier transport, compact storage, and convenient travel carriage.
A single leg can be removed, allowing the Hercules to function as a bipod system for positional shooting. This configuration is useful when terrain is unsuitable for tripod use, space is limited, or high-angle shooting is required. One or two legs can also be used as trekking poles. They can be accessorised with a trekking pole handle and loop, ski pole tip, or long foot spike.
Leg Height Adjustment
Each leg features a 4 part leg with twist-lock adjustments for changing the tripod height. To adjust the leg length, rotate the leg lock counter-clockwise to loosen it. Extend or retract the lower leg section until the desired height is reached, then tighten the lock by turning it clockwise. Before tightening, ensure that any upper leg locks are fully secured to maintain stability. Each leg section has an aluminum collet allowing you to remove each section when needed without fully disassembling the leg.
Adjustable Leg Angles
The Hercules Tripod features multiple leg pitch positions, allowing it to adapt to steep terrain, uneven ground, or low shooting positions. To adjust the leg angle, pull the latch located at the shoulder of the leg and move the leg to the desired position. To drop down each latch position, move the leg back to its closed position and the latch will close incrementally down the 4 leg pitches.
Note: If the shoulder latch does not adjust automatically, this will be due to the tension spring on the underside of the leg shoulder, this can be tightened or loosened as desired.
Mini Hercules Configuration
The Hercules can be converted into a compact ground-level tripod. This is achieved by replacing the standard legs with 3 × Heavy Duty Tac Legs.
Tac Legs are incrementally adjustable, adjusted with a single press of the release lever, and are compact and stable. The Mini Hercules configuration provides a stable shooting platform that can outperform both bipods and full-sized tripods, particularly on uneven terrain.
Optics and Camera Mounting
When used with the Pan Head Converter module or the Spartan Heavy Duty Optics Adapter, the Hercules becomes an extremely stable platform for spotting scopes, binoculars, cameras, and filming equipment. This creates a compact and stable optics platform.
Compatibility with the CP Brace
The Hercules tripod is also compatible with the Spartan CP Brace. The CP Brace increases stability for long-range shooting. The rifle is mounted on the brace between two tripod legs, and the third leg stabilises the butt of the rifle. The brace mounts at the bottom of the upper leg section, beneath the foam handle. Please see the CP Brace product guide for installation.
