Magnetic Springbok Tripod Closure

Overview

The Spartan SpringBok Tripod Magnetic Leg Closure provides a smooth, quiet and secure way to stow your tripod legs, making it ideal for noise-sensitive environments. It also reduces the chance of the feet knocking together.

Featuring a three-piece magnetic design, the closure automatically aligns and secures the legs together, eliminating the need for traditional clips. When deploying the tripod, the magnets let the legs separate quickly and effortlessly for faster, quieter operation in the field.

Please check your leg diameter before ordering. This Magnetic Leg Closure is available in two versions, and each is made for a specific leg size:

• Gen 1: fits the 19mm legs on first generation SpringBok Tripods.
• Gen 2: fits the 16mm legs on newer generation SpringBok Tripods.

The two versions are not interchangeable. Please measure your tripod legs to confirm which one you need before purchasing.

Step 1 – Unscrew the Legs

Remove all three SpringBok Tripod Legs from the tripod head.

Step 2 – Slide on Adapter Sections (3x)

Slide one adapter section onto each of the three detached legs. As you do this, make sure the magnet on each section aligns with its opposite-polarity (north/south) counterpart on the neighbouring section.

Step 3 – Reattached Tripod Legs

Reattach the three legs with the adapters still loose.

Step 4 – Align Adapter Sections

With the legs closed, use the magnets to align the adapters. Make sure they sit flush against each other.

Step 5 – Tighten Adapter Sections (3x)

Tighten each adapter section individually, keeping it aligned as you go.

Note: Make sure the legs are fully tightened onto the head before you begin. Any movement in the leg thread can misalign the magnetic closure.
