HD Optics Adapter - Product Guide

Overview

The Heavy Duty Optics Adapter allows spotting scopes, cameras, and other optical devices to be securely mounted to Spartan tripods and heads using both the MagnaSwitch™  and Disc-Lok™ attachment systems. This adapter provides a stable and reliable platform for glassing and observation.

Designed for durability and control, the adapter includes a carbon control arm that allows smooth panning and tilting when tracking subjects or scanning terrain.

Installing the Adapter

The adapter uses a 1/4"-20 UNC mounting screw, which is the standard thread size used on most spotting scopes and cameras.

To install the adapter, simply thread the screw into the base of your optic and tighten until secure.

Some optics and cameras use a larger 3/8"-16 UNC thread. In this case, the supplied steel thread bush can be inserted into the optic to reduce the thread size, allowing the adapter to be fitted correctly.

A small grub screw located at the base of the adapter can then be tightened to prevent the adapter from rotating during use.

Attaching the Adapter to a Spartan Head

To attach the optics adapter to a Spartan tripod or head, align the spigot with the slot on the MagnaSwitch™/Disc-Lok™ adapter.

For MagnaSwitch™ products, the integrated magnet will guide the spigot into place and hold the adapter securely. Once engaged, close the security lever to lock the optic firmly onto the spigot.

Security Lever Adjustment

The security lever can be adjusted to suit personal preference and ensure the adapter remains secure.

Using a 3 mm Allen key, the tension of the adapter can be adjusted to increase or decrease resistance. This helps prevent unwanted movement while allowing smooth operation during use.

Carbon Control Arm

The Carbon Control Arm provides improved handling and control when using optics.

This arm allows smoother panning and tilting when scanning terrain or tracking movement. It can be mounted in two different positions on the adapter, allowing users to configure it for their preferred shooting or glassing setup.
