Davros Head Gen 2 - Product Guide

Installation

The Davros Head features a 3/8"-16 UNC female thread, allowing it to mount directly onto most tripods or compatible accessories.

• Screw the Davros Head directly onto the tripod's 3/8"-16 male thread
• For smaller systems, use the included 1/4"-20 step-down adapter
• Tighten securely by hand
• There is ability to unscrew a stainless steel bolt, and then rethread into its opposite position which allows for greater leverage when tightening onto your tripod.

Important:
The Davros Head is designed to replace your tripod's existing head, not to be mounted on top of another head.

Operating Instructions

Attaching Your Rifle

To mount your rifle, a Spartan Classic Adapter must be installed on the rifle.

• Align the adapter with the Davros spigot
• Push down gently – the magnet will assist alignment
• To remove, pull the rifle upwards firmly
• If needed, support removal by pushing up under the stock with your thumb

Attaching Optics

The Davros Head can be used with optics using compatible adapters:

• Supports spotting scopes, binoculars, and cameras
• Compatible with 1/4"-20 UNC and 3/8"-16 UNC threads

Friction Control

The friction control ring allows you to adjust the resistance of the ball head:

• Turn to increase or decrease movement resistance
• Heavier rifles or optics may require higher friction
• Set to personal preference for balance between control and mobility

In some setups, the rifle can remain supported on the head while waiting for a shot.

Removing the Davros Head

A removable shouldered screw is integrated into the base for added leverage:

• If grip is limited, remove the screw and insert it into the opposite side
• Use it as a handle to loosen the head
• Reinstall the screw after removal

Arca Compatibility

The Davros base includes flared slots for Arca compatibility:

• Open the Arca clamp
• Position the Davros with angled sides aligned to the clamp
• Tighten the clamp to secure

This allows conversion of an Arca tripod into a MagnaSwitch™ shooting platform.

Switching to Disc-Lok™

The Davros Head Gen 2 can be converted from MagnaSwitch™ to Disc-Lok™:

1. Unscrew the friction control ring (anti-clockwise)
2. Remove the MagnaSwitch™ spigot, ball, and collar
3. Insert the Disc-Lok™ ball into the housing
4. Refit the collar (ensure correct orientation – only ~1 mm visible
5. Reinstall the friction control ring and tighten by hand
